Families of Interests

MOORE

Edward J. Moore was born in Pennsylvania. His parents; however, were both born in Maryland. In 1880 he lived in Mannington, Salem, New Jersey. At the time he was 23, born around 1857 in Pennsylvania. His wife was Sarah J. Valentine. Edward was a black Laborer; at the time the couple had one son, William Moore (1879). Birth records show the couple had Richard T. Moore, August 31, 1893.
Sarah J. Valentine was born around 1858. Both of her parents were also born in New Jersey. She was black.
Edward and Sarah's neighbors were the Fishers, Harvey's and Taylor's.

VALENTINE

Sarah J. Valentine was Richard Moore (Dick) paternal grandmother. Her paternal father was John Valentine (1818). The people who lived in his household were Mary G. Butcher, Grace A. Valentine (1843), Charles Valentine (1855) married Lillie Dunn they had two children Nathan Valentine (1901) and James Valentine (1907). Lillie's mother was Isabel Dunn (1822), John Valentine (1847), Josiah Valentine (1858), and Chas Anderson (1859). They all lived in Elsinboro, New Jersey.

MOORE

After Edward had Richard and before he married Isabel they lived in Lower Penns Neck. Four children lived in the house Edward J. Moore (1887), Mary A Moore (1888), Charles L. Moore (1891), and Richard Moore (1894).
Edward J. Moore according to the 1910 United States Federal Census moved to Quinton, NJ. His second wife was Isabel F. Hance (1870) At the time 4 children lived in the house. Charles L. Moore, Richard T. Moore (1893), Joseph C Moore (1907), and Clara P. Wetter or Watters (1903), step daughter of Edward J. Moore. Biological child of Isabel Hance.
Their neighbors were the Ayers, Applegate's, Jone's and Thomas.
Around (1920's) Edward Moore, 68 lived with Isabel Moore, 48 Joseph was 14. On the census the whole family was considered Mulatto. Their neighbors were the Cole's, Lloyd's, and Massen's.

HANCE

Perry Hance (1832) lived in Lower Penns Neck, Salem, NJ. He was a black laborer from Delaware. Sarah J. Hance was his wife (1835). Two children were listed on the 1860's census Wm H. Hance, 4 and Clement Hance, 1. Three children were listed on the 188- united States Federal Census: Isabelle 12, Perry Hance 8, and Harriet 6 months

MOORE

Richard T. Moore married Katherine Douglas (1895). They had one child together Richard Moore Netter. Richard T. Moore also had a daughter Rosa Moore.
I found a draft card for Richard Thompson Moore. He lived at 2623 W. Hagert Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the time he was 48 and born in Salem, NJ. He wrote that Mrs. Rosa Moore, 221 Kesby Street, Salem, NJ would always know his place of residency.

Joseph Moore (1906) was married to Ella Bunting (1907) in 1930. No children lived in the house. They lived in Quinton, NJ April 4, 1930. Their neighbors were the Sickler's, Cain's and Pitts.

DOUGLASS

Katherine Douglass (Catherine) in the 1900 United States Federal Census lived in Quinton, NJ. Her father was David Douglass (1854), mother Catherine Gibbs and sibling Lillie H. Douglas.

By the 1910 Census the family still lived in Quinton next to the Lloyd's and Jone's. A child was added Leona Douglass 1909.
Katherine died at 16 giving birth to Richard Moore (Netter). Her funeral was held a Berry's Chapel and she was buried at Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. Richard Moore was born August 27, 1911, he died June 1987.
The 1920 Census shows the Richard lived with his maternal Aunt Evaline Netter (1876) and her husband Joseph Netter (1878).
By 1930 the had took in six other children Charles Bordy, William Dunber, Sylvester Dunbar, William Domain, Wallace Domain, and Herbert Lee.
Richard Netter married Laura Bunting he had one previous child Richard. Their children together: Donald, Joseph, Richard, Doris, George, Vada, Gary, and Deborah.
